No Time Limitations And Great Models…

June 14th, 2007 8:53 am

No time limitations and great models always seem to produce the best work!

Tuesday I got together with a fellow photographer friend of mine Jason Cohen. He and I decided to spend the day shooting together exploring lighting and location options. I realized very quickly that I still have so much to learn, but the fact that we weren’t on any time constraints was priceless.

Most shoots consist of clients worrying about how much they are going to have to pay and don’t want to go over on time. This typically produces “you get what you get” type images. Tuesday we had no limits. The models were great to work with and we had time to adjust lighting and discuss options and experiment a bit.

A big reason I like doing these types of shoots is because I have the opportunity to work out situations, which allows me to know more of what I am looking for before I even go to a shoot. In turn… the time constraint type shoots end up flowing that much better.

I work shoots differently. I know time is typically a factor, but to me… if it needs more work and more time then lets do it… if we get it in 15 minutes then great. If we get it in 15 minutes, but there are so many more possibilities then I want to spend that extra time having fun trying to produce more great images.

Here is a couple from Tuesday:
