So today is my last full day before I fly out and go back to the norms of life. I have to be honest… the last two weeks of my life have been absolutely amazing. Don’t get me wrong I desperately yearn to see my wife and son, but the alone time has done me a ton of good. Week one was spent doing mission work in southern Louisiana for RISE a local mission work organization/retreat. This past week has consisted of sleeping late and spending the entire day with none other than… ME! Here I San Diego there are so many places to see and explore. The first day I went downtown, had a wrap at an Irish pub and drove around exploring, made a trip to the beach, and went to a couple of surf shops. I also went to “dog†beach. This beach was amazing! Full of people with their dogs! They were all just playing in the water as the tides would rush in… it was great! Later that evening we drove around looking for apartments for Casey and checking out cell companies to change his service too. After which, we ended up at a small café with gelato and free WiFi! The second day I made my way to La Jolla. I went to the beaches there and sat and had coffee at the living room after visiting the American Apparel store… (which is my favorite brand of t-shirt… to wear and print on!) after which I went downtown again and picked up a few “essentialsâ€. I headed back to the apartment and left again for some to go Chinese for lunch, then downtown again that night for sushi with Casey. It was great to eat outside with the cool weather and amazing breeze… after supper Casey took me to “the spot†which I am not at liberty to discuss right now… Today I woke up with a plan and a destination… of course I had to go to a local camera shop! And of course they had the lens that I was looking for unlike everyone else who is always sold out. Drove through Hillcrest and ended up in Coronado. For those who don’t know… my mom lived there when she was 2 (or something like that).  It is a naval base. I had lunch at some wacky little place off of a pier. I got chicken strips with fries (with Cajun seasoning)… not too bad… not too Cajun either! Read a magazine for a few minutes then walked up the pier and checked out some surfing… the weather was overcast and there were a tone of red flags out so the waves were great! I almost forgot… today I also with to the national wildlife reserve… didn’t stay too long. Those things can get really boring when you are by your self and there are really only plants to see. After leaving Coronado I hopped back on the 5 and ended up back here (the little Gelato/coffee shop off of Washington). I am enjoying not only my free WiFi, but a cup of blackberry gelato! Casey and I will probably dress up for supper tonight… he told me where we are going, but I have such low memory retention… I can’t remember… so I fly out tomorrow and will be back before anyone will have time to notice I’m gone… well… except for my foxy wife and my little stud!!!  How I miss the fam! -out
i added a few shots to flickr of the wedding i did on the 29th… it was an amazing ceremony…
still here in san diego… spent the day exploring and having some good time to myself. casey had his first day of work today and went up to LA to meet with a client. he is working on a police station for UCLA. great project.
we drove to kerville our first night… we made it here at about 4am… we tried stopping right outside of San Antonio, but there were no vacancies at any hotel… so… we kept on and ended up here… i’m pretty tired and don’t feel much like typing… just thought i would give a little “fyi” about the start of our journey!
ps:Â if you didn’t know… i am helping my brother move to San Diago… he and i are driving seperate vehicles packed down with “stuff”.
on my way out for a week… will probably post so check back for updates!
ps:Â we are driving… (24hr)
i finished up a few more shots from the elite shoot. this was a really fun shoot… everyone was great and really willing to work… it was hot, but everyone was good sports about it… i really loved the effect that this plain metal building gave me with the unfinished cement. my thoughts were beauty of women and dance in such a rough setting… it allowed me to focus more on the elegance and beauty of each dancer.
