Photo: Casey and Megan are Engaged!

August 1st, 2011 4:37 am

I came to San Diego earlier this week to visit my brother.  Very few people knew that I was going to be in town and even fewer people knew what was happening on the Friday that I was in.  Friday my brother worked up the nerve and popped the question to the beautiful Megan Morgan.  It was such an honor to be a part of such an event.  I’ve never seen my brother so nervous.  He had been planning for weeks. The final few days were the worst. Nerves were running high and the anticipation he was feeling was overwhelming. Finally the day came and everything went perfectly.  It was such a beautiful proposal.

I’m blessed to have Casey as my brother and am just as blessed to be welcoming Megan to our family.  I love you guys.

I wanted to share a few images from their proposal. Megan wasn’t aware that I was in town so not only was the proposal a surprise, but the pictures were as well.  Here are a few images from that day.

Enjoy!

Practice makes perfect!

My Image in the Leica User Forum Book for Cancer Research!

August 6th, 2010 11:48 am

I had the great honor of having an image of mine published in the Leica User Forum Book along with many other great photographers.  The purpose of the book is to raise funds for Leica’s charity AICR (Association for International Cancer Research).  This opportunity has meant a great deal to me because my father was diognosed with cancer several years back.  Through cancer research he has recovered and is doing great.

If you are interested in helping support the cause you can do so by purchasing the book HERE.  The book is available for anyone to buy and AICR will receive £5 from each copy sold. So far over £7,000 has been raised just from the entry submissions alone!  Click here for a Thank You post from Leica’s Blog.

Here are a few images of the book and the image of mine that was published.  Unfortunatly they misspelled my name, but for the cause I guess I can let that slide :).  The last name reads “Orilion”, but needs to have two “L”s and read “Orillion”. Better luck next time I guess.

Camera: Leica M6
Lens: Voigtländer 28mm f1.9
Medium: Film – Ilford HP5+ ISO400
Location: Harbor Island in the Bahamas.

Enjoy!

“This photo book – the proceeds of which are being donated to the AICR (Association for International Cancer Research) – is an extremely successful illustration of the passion and dedication of a rather special Leica community. It leaves no doubt whatsoever that our customers are the best.”

Salk Institute Film Images: Leica M6

Here are some scans of the Salk Institute that I shot last year in San Diego, Ca.  I posted one of the images as a wallpaper a while back, but I’ve never posted any of the actual images.  These were all shot on a Leica M6.

Joia Farmer Photo Shoot

October 26th, 2009 11:30 am

This past weekend I had the opportunity to spend the day shooting with Joia Farmer in Casper, Wyoming. The location was absolutely beautiful! Joia will be releasing a new album soon and wanted to use these images for the album as well as other promotional material.

I have to admit… Joia was a trooper! I pushed her till she didn’t want to go anymore and then some. I think it was well worth it though. I ended up getting the sunset shot I was looking for. We were on top of the mountain and the wind must have been blowing 60mph and the wind chill had to be in the teens. Other than that and nearly rolling the truck on the side of the mt. i think everything went really smooth.

Here are a few of my favorites: Enjoy!

San Diego Beach Night

September 21st, 2009 11:00 am

My brother left today for San Diego. As I was thinking about my recent travels to and from there myself I recalled a few more images from that trip. These, as well as the previous ones, were shot with film. I wasn’t sure what the exact outcome of these images were going to be because I was shooting a pretty long exposure hand held without a tripod. It was the middle of the night so needless to say I was pretty happy with the outcome!
Enjoy!

Fresh Fruit from the Bahamas

September 21st, 2009 10:58 am

I had so many little wonderful experiences while I was in the Bahamas. One of the best parts was meeting and visiting with the locals. This gentleman was running a fruit stand with so many great native fruits. We must have spent 45 minutes just visiting and trying diffrent fruit. It was here that I was first introduced to “sugar apples”. I’m not one to really try crazy things, but it was really good. I can still imagine the unique taste. Anyway… Here are a few shots.
Enjoy!
