I was asked again this year to shoot a short documentary for Opelousas Lighthouse Mission for their luncheon. The video is used throughout the year for promotion and awareness of the mission. The video pretty much speaks for itself. There is contact info for the mission at the end of the video if you feel moved to help in any way.
Recently I had the opportunity to work on a short video documentary project with Lighthouse Mission in Opelousas. Â Lighthouse Mission is a men’s shelter/transitional. The guys there were so eager to share their story in hopes to set an example and prove that there is hope in the darkest of moments in life.
Here is their story:
I’ve wanted to do this for some time now, but never really took the time to make it happen. Here is a screen cast of a Photoshop and Aperture editing session I did for the Trudell family.
This documentary project was shot over a 1 and 1/2 Day period and edited overnight for the Veritas retreat. Â I haven’t tweaked anything since the first rough edit, but wanted to get something up.
This was all shot with the Nikon D7000 in mostly very low light conditions with very high ISO Ranges.
Rode NTG-2 Shotgun
Sennheiser EW 100 G3 Lapel
I just got in the new Nikon d7000 and I wanted to do a quick test to see how the video function performed. Â This footage and audio is straight out of camera with no post work other than slicing the frames together. Shot hand held with Nikon 24-70mm f2.8 in all natural light. I was actually really impressed!
James Charles stood in for me as my test subject. Â Maybe I should have cleaned up his face and his runny nose, or even taken the candy out of his mouth, but hey… Its a raw test ;)
This summer I had the opportunity to attend and shoot the RISE Mission work week retreat. Â For the retreat I shot stills and a few video clips to produce a documentary of the week. I spent the week shooting alongside Daniel Kedinger who also produced a separate video as well. Â This video was shot all on the Nikon D3 for stills with short motion clips shot on the Nikon d90. Â Audio was captured with the Zoom H4N. Â It was a fun week. Â Check out the video.
